description :: The Downtown Outdoor Film Festival is a community-building project that seeks to screen feature length films for a community audience in a public space in downtown Iowa City. The project is intended to:
• Foster community interaction and shared experiences.
• Encourage the enjoyment of the arts, public spaces, and community.
• Increase foot traffic in key downtown areas in turn benefiting local businesses.
• Create a more attractive and vibrant community.

- The project will use the old screen formerly used in The Englert Theater.
- Movies will screen at sundown on four consecutive Saturday Nights.
- As planned the project has become a sister series to The Friday Night Concert Series during Summer of the Arts.
