A not-for-profit, volunteer-run art, culture and performance venue in downtown Iowa City providing opportunities for local visual and performance artists to "Go Public" with their talents.

how it encourages creativity :: Public Space ONE provides a venue for people to practice, perfect, and perform their creative endeavors including theater, photography, art, writing, and performance.

how it encourages service :: The space provides a location for community discussions, gatherings, interactions, and dialogues.

  • Provided hundreds of local artists of all levels of talent the opportunity to perform and to exhibit in the areas of art, theater, film, dance, music, and creative writing
  • Has received over 2,000 individual donations since opening in December of 2002
  • Profiled in nearly two-dozen articles in news publications, including several cover features
  • Promotes awareness of local community and talent, civic responsibility, and cultural growth
